The Family Friendly Music Festival
A message From Teenage Cancer Trust:
We would like to thank the organisers of Rowchester Music Festival for choosing to donate all profit from ticket sales this summer, to Teenage Cancer Trust.
We know how damaging it is to take a young person away from their everyday life, their friends, their environment, their family and put them in a cancer ward with small children or older people.
Young people have a much better chance in their fight against cancer if they are treated by teenage cancer experts, in an environment tailored to their needs. So we're working every day to make that happen.
We are pleased to announce the launch of our East of Scotland Appeal which took place this March. The purpose of the appeal is to raise money to build a unit at the Western General Hospital which will provide care for young people between the ages of 17 and 24 and a unit at the New Children's Hospital in Edinburgh for young people aged 13 to 16.
In addition to this, we continue to raise funds for our unit at The Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle which is estimated to have a build cost of around £1.7 million.
The aim of these appeals is to ensure that every young person in each of the regions has access to the specialist support provided by Teenage Cancer Trust. In order to achieve this, we need your help.
We are very much a Family Friendly Festival and look forward to seeing kids of all ages. We have organised football & Kwik Cricket, face painting, children's book readings and art classes, to name just a few. The children will be supervised in the 'Children's Zone', enabling them to enjoy themselves in a safe environment.
As in previous years we will be providing a wide range of 'Festival Food'. There will be lots of choice available throughout the weekend (bacon rolls on Sunday morning for the Campers!). We will be offering Cream Teas in the afternoons!
Licensing Laws have changed and it is no longer possible to carry cans or bottles inside the Festival site. Please note that these regulations have been imposed on all outdoor events. We are again providing fully managed bars selling a range of beer, organic cider, wine and soft drinks at very reasonable prices. We will be operating a 'Challenge 21' policy where if you look under the age of 21 you will be required to show your I.D.
This year we want to encourage all festival goers to come in fancy dress. There is no specific theme so dress up as anyone or anything you like. We are hoping to see some fantastic costumes and are offering our best 'fancy dressed' dressers the chance to pick up a major prize!
Join our facebook group, Rowchester Music Festival, to receive news and updates on the festival.
Busy week? Need a place to relax and unwind? Visit our Rejuvenation Tent where you will be pampered and looked after.
We will have experts in the field of reflexology and reiki who will give (for a donation) short sessions to those suffering from stress, anxiety or other ailments!
This year we are running are own shop selling CDs from the bands performing, Rowchester T-shirts, various charity items from the Teenage Cancer Trust plus a wide range of other local products.
If you have any questions about the festival then please send us an email to enquiries@rowchestermusicfestival.com
